This is a valid point! People might feel they must put 100% on arguing for their case when fighting a consensus, because everyone else is already doing the opposite.

Steel-manning the opposing perspective could yield stronger insight in favor of their passion. This would convince people to change their minds more effectively, because most are obsessed in the case of "true SBS" with physical abuse.
