A lot of folks are talking about “incumbents in AI taking regulatory control.”

That is extremely premature. There are no real incumbents. The only companies with real cash flow from this are hardware.

We still don’t know what commercial AI will look like - much less have massive incumbents.

Maybe we should be a bit more skeptical of privacy laws that conventionally make it harder to start a social networking site or search engine.

But AI still doesn’t have a clear application.
