Just tried it for MacOS X. I didn't get past its request for permission to access keystrokes from all applications. I denied it and then even the menu shortcuts didn't work.
Maybe need some fixes to the way they handle the event code on MacOS.
I'm guessing you don't do a lot of gaming on macOS. That prompt shows up with lots of games.
I wrote a multi-platform (including MacOS) game last year using SDL and didn't have that issue getting keystrokes.
If you self sign I don’t think you’ll be asked for permissions.
I might be mistaken with a more modern macOS. I’m somewhat behind the times with a 2011 MBP - with SSD and 16gb RAM.
