the hello.com in this article was a huge joke inside of google. it was widely assumed that orkut had some sort of embarassing info about larry that gave him latitude to develop the project (until it was pushed outside). I still remember this was one of the first big memegen traffic drivers- the assets for hello.com were in google3 and were really quite strange. Those assets were turned into meme templates. IIRC the memgen cops eventually deleted the assets, and the project was removed from google3 and hello.com never really went anywhere.
