Given the more permissive license openrsync would be in a pickle if they stole the vulnerable GPL code and claimed to redistribute it under BSD license instead of reimplementing the protocol.

Given the more permissive license openrsync would be in a pickle if they stole the vulnerable GPL code and claimed to redistribute it under BSD license instead of reimplementing the protocol.
Which is highly unlikely to happen in openbsd.
