Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought Musk isn't a coder? Not sure what that guy expected asking him to go into technical detail on what's wrong with the stack.

I've worked with many CEO's that know the system is a mess, but can't explain it beyond that.

Sure and some % of those know it is a mess by its attributes - uptime, opex, features, release cadence, customer satisfaction, etc.

While generally a much higher % "know" it by which of their underlings whispered into their ear last.
