If you’re fighting the fundamental nature of your tools, I think it behooves you to at least consider swapping them for others.
Not saying you should switch. That’s a personal decision. But it might be time to take a look at what else is out there.
I've been running Unix and Mac desktops too for decades. I have to fight them too, but in different ways :)
