What would sales engineers be responsible for at a company like intel? I thought that was more of a SaaS thing.

What would sales engineers be responsible for at a company like intel? I thought that was more of a SaaS thing.
They were trained to handle the relationships with the companies writing software for x86 and the companies building computers with Intel chips.
