Interesting. My employer uses NFS extensively and issues are very rare, and such issues can always be traced to underlying network issues not NFS itself. It's a good choice if you have a good network.

My former employer used NFS and it would lock up a bunch of stuff whenever the network dropped for a bit. In fact a lot of their software had detection for this case so that you wouldn't think it was at fault for the issues.
