It’s normal for any CPU under load with correctly sized cooling to be just under its maximum temperature, which is often 100.

Electromigration is a real problem. "Barely enough" is not a synonym for "correctly sized".

I might not hit problems within the lifetime of the device, but it's a pretty tight margin of error. If I can roughly roughly cut aging in half by dropping 10C, then I want to do that 2-4 times.
