All I can think is maybe they changed a clogged air filter at the same time. Otherwise it has to be placebo.

Why would your go-to explanation be an air filter service that no one in this tangent has mentioned? This seems counterintuitive, but then you also say the only other option is placebo so I'm not sure I follow from the limited line of thinking explained here?
