I used to be afraid of job interviews then I discovered Bob Firestone and started looking at it like a pickup artist.

I am good at whiteboard coding but I am also good at compensating for what I don’t know and even bluffing. In a data science interview they asked me about “regularization” which I didn’t recognize but when they defined it I could describe many different approaches to regularization I had used in projects. For a long time it seemed that any question in an interview could be answered answered with “look it up in the hashtable” or “look it up in the literature”
