I've been trying to convince them of that for 15 years and it's only recently that the party base is tilting in the direction of possibly-maybe being more confrontational. Most Congressional democrats have yet to get the message, or mouth the rhetoric but make no effort to match it with legislative actions (even superficially futile ones).
