While that may be true, I have a hard time believing that's relevant to the intent of people putting "engineer" into every job title out there.

While that may be true, I have a hard time believing that's relevant to the intent of people putting "engineer" into every job title out there.
The same is true of the word 'designer', it's shorthand.
