A slightly competent approach would be to tightly regulate all remote access to vehicles, infrastructure, etc. Because it doesn't much matter if critical stuff is bricked by its CCP-controlled manufacturer, vs. one of the CCP's hacking teams breaks into the remote update system of an all-British manufacturer and bricks everything, vs. the stuff "bricks itself by design" when some cloud servers go offline.

No, I wouldn't expect any country outside of China, Russia, NK, and a few similar to be competent enough to actually do this.
