Desktop‑2FA 0.5.0
I’ve been working on a small open‑source project called desktop‑2fa — a local‑only TOTP generator designed for people who prefer offline, reproducible tools over cloud‑based authenticators.
Version 0.5.0 just landed. The main focus of this release was stability, reproducibility, and tightening the workflow around packaging and publishing. Highlights:
• 100% test coverage • reproducible builds • strict CI/CD safety checks to prevent accidental releases • Pydantic v2 migration • improved documentation and onboarding • cleaner CLI and error handling
It’s still a simple tool, but the goal is to make a trustworthy, transparent, desktop‑first 2FA solution without accounts, sync, or telemetry.

Feedback is welcome — especially around packaging, security assumptions, and workflow design.
