That makes a lot more sense, especially as someone who has been on the receiving end of Theo on the OpenBSD mailing list.
It's a kind of mark of distinction, like Rodney Rude fans being personally insulted by him.
I wonder if there's various grades? Does a personal insult in private email rate higher than a general one on a mailing list?
