Honestly I don't know why it isn't more common to expose more stuff. The entire reason the computer is a tool everyone has is because it's so customizable. Everyone's computer (including phones) is different, and that's a good thing! No one has the exact same programs installed, they all customize to their use cases. It's pretty rare to find machines that are identical and that's really only going to happen in very controlled environments. It'll never happen with personal devices, including personal work devices
