wtf I’m going to wager that this is a local myth. Just using corpses as fuel feels a bit antithetical to human traditions
The trick is to live in a white supremacist imperialist culture that barely considers such people human to begin with and couldn't care less about their traditions beyond the material value they create.
They were actually eaten (in the early modern era) or ground up for paint.
