It is very simple. the factory work I do cannot run without Windows.

The software required for my work is supported only on Windows.

Of coures, Linux may give more control. But while people in the US may have a choice, in Korea, for this kind of industrial work, I usually do not.

Do you need to use Windows 11 though? If you're using Windows to drive industrial equipment I assume those machines are not connected to the internet? If so you should be fine running Windows 7 or - if need be - 10. There's plenty of medical devices running Windows 2000, some of them use even older versions. As long as they're kept away from the internet and from random USB sticks they remain useable without fear of compromise.

I'd not want anything like Windows 11 controlling industrial equipment as that OS does not need to be compromised to be untrustworthy.
