Thank you OP, this puts into words why I no longer look at Show HNs.
We filter out most Show HNs now (i.e., most of the ones that are submitted or attempted to be submitted by fresh accounts), and we look out for ones that have substance and authentic writing. Others have commented that the standard has been better in recent weeks. We'll keep working at it.
