There's always been mean nerds and happy nerds. The mean nerds have a chip on their shoulder, are insecure, and are trying to prove something. I had a boss like this - he blew up at me in private because I disagreed with him in a meeting with the partners, as if I have to support him in anything he says or does. Lol. As if.

I've never had a happy nerd boss because they seem to be content to be my coworker instead.
