Companies that make these sort of nationalist “made in XYZ country” phones really need to do more to convince people that a decent amount of their components are actually assembled significantly in those countries.
I didn’t see much indication in any particular direction going a few links deep, but it seems to me it’s highly likely this is just a white label phone from China that’s been tossed in the box in Germany.
Forking/basing their OS on GrapheneOS is the most interesting part of this, effectively expanding the supported device list to include their own. I am just not sure how one justifies picking this over a Pixel device with GrapheneOS installed in terms of value. I am not even really sure there’s a sovereignty or privacy argument for it, since installing GrapheneOS can fully de-google you if you so choose as well as give you all the granular controls. With this device you’re just getting crappier specs for your euro.
