I misremembered. I considered both and settled on Forgejo. It was a while ago now and as Forgejo is a Gitea fork my mind must have conflated remaining hook names (hooks/pre-receive.d/gitea, post-receive.d/gitea, update.d/gitea) with Forgejo.
