Sure, but not all compromises are equal.

Creating a product and touting how secure it is while some jackass manager continually cuts the budget for security fixes? It’s self-defeating to throw up your hands and say “oh, we had to compromise.”

The reality is that decision-making is about power. If you are continually losing all the tradeoffs, that says all you need to know.

Sometimes power is in the hands of people who use it in ways that will tank the company, all while everyone else “compromises” so we all ride the express train to a failure.
