So does this mean I can start a supermarket chain named Iceland, and that’s fine?

  • Not in the UK. This was an EU ruling. In the EU you could theoretically open your own store named Iceland but you’d have to be careful about doing absolutely anything that might be intepreted as impersonating the existing store.
