If you're implying ~60% of the pop is pirating cable I don't believe it's anywhere near that high

The only people I know under the age of 40 with "cable TV" use it pretty much exclusively to watch sports.
Yes and even streaming on non-TV devices is kind of a modern continuation of TVs since you can consume the same crap there.
Are you forgetting about broadcast TV? NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX are enough for most households. Cable isn't the value-add that it used to be.
