While they are not directly in trouble, this is yet one more reason to have a sovereign financial system in Europe. Especially a direct competitor for the credit card networks (VISA, Mastercard) and SWIFT. These are the immediate threats.
What do you mean "not directly in trouble"? Their bank account will be blocked.
Sorry, what I meant is that they are Italians and as much as the US would like to exercise extraterritoriality, they are safe in Italy
