US sanctions all kinds of completely non-threatening individuals based purely on ideology and attempts to silence their speech, and discourage them from making the world a better place. So this may be yet another such thing. By itself, being sanctionned by the US doesn't say anything about the person or entity.

What a petty country, sanctioning judges of international criminal court, or UN workers, as if that means anything. ICC gets authority from countries that formed this court not from appointed judges. If you want to fight the court, you have to sanction entire countries. Sanction the entire assembly of state parties. You sanction one judge or one prosecutor, we elect another. It's not just petty, it's idiotic.
