How is the situation with Bitcoin?

Do Europeans have options to hold Bitcoin in ETFs, ETPs etc that are not storing the coins in the USA?

yes, but why would you want to? The only thing you would gain is instant trade settling (assuming the exchange is open)

I know it sounds like europe is a financial backwater, but we have all the things the US has, apart from the capitalisation.

    When I was still in The Netherlands I could invest my pension in stocks, obligations, ETFs or park it as cash.

    I couldn't invest it in Bitcoin directly. It had to be on a special blocked account at a broker to ensure I couldn't touch it till my 73rd birthday.
