Would be SO sick! I feel like there is such a big appetite for it and people would do the free labor to support it. I wonder what keeps it in this horrible purgatory of install hell.

I install, run and update via this container script [1] on Arch. It works very well.

This aur package [1] works well for me. Unfortunately the new maintainer removed the automatic download and you need to manually download the zip via the form on Blackmagic's website (however not even the email is validated).

did they remove it based on policy? seems.. less convenient.
This is a good place to share that MakeResolveDeb makes installing Davinci Resolve very easy on Ubuntu/Mint/Debian

That's the experience on CachyOS. They package it up for their users and updates just work.
