When the Chinese model drops that tops a paused Anthropic and OpenAI in all benchmarks how low will their valuations go?
It remains to be seen whether the Chinese AI labs actually are capable of improving on their own or if they just distilled the US frontier models.
In what possible manner could this be true? China produces so many of the leading minds already and they'll eventually just develop their own means of creating better hardware.
People let their racism blind themselves.
Chinese AI companies are a lot smaller in terms of capital, GPUs, and headcount as compared to American. The fact they’ve kept close so far is super impressive
Why should it only be distilled when they actually perform better on some benchmarks (see DeepSeeks Flash 4.1)?
OpenAI will release the multiple-north-star bench and get 99%.
Claude will release another employee ballast, the valid but in-conceived alarmism will surely reach POTUS ears.
