This isn't likely even about AI. It's about making large groups of people the targets of terrorist investigations, and holding the possibility of incarceration over their heads. AI is the latest convenient excuse. Just like when they designated "Anonymous" a terrorist "organization" (when there is no actual organization) - so now anyone in possession of a Guy Fawkes mask could plausibly be arrested for being a terrorist. I wish I were joking. It's only funny when people who voted for this administration end up being a target. This is going to keep happening, unfortunately.
It’s the same thing for “Antifa” which is defined as “anyone I don’t like”.
Creating these vague justifications for insane power abuse has become the norm.
Hitler did this exact same thing btw.
I've used this argument against vegetarians to great success myself.
