Just imagine how lousy the average American mind has to have been to evaluate this to be preferable to just about any other alternative they could get in their political system. Twice. And they'll happily go for a third time, tens of millions of people are still loving it.
The quality of the candidates seem to have gone down since Obama, Bill Clinton and the like though.
Voters keep showing they prefer the more senile candidate, I suppose.
Sure, they are just stupid, deluded, idiots, not starved out of all alternatives, by 40 years of wage scissoring, de-industrialization, by a reality decoupled elite that finally got a terror-clown for all its fringe centric, reality decoupled politics. Imagine a country that divorces the empire and the ruling elite, which does not need the country, still not getting the message, after 8 years of this and 4 of right on, right on.
the only philosophy where this leads to this government is either stupidity or accelerationism. And 49% of voters aren't accelerationists.
What is the difference between a vote based on stupidity and a vote based on accelerationism if they are for the same candidate? How would you draw the distinction?
