Because anyone with a brain knows that a wealth tax wont just target the super wealthy for very long.
Same shit happened when income taxes were first introduced.
The ONLY thing that works is making sure a tax never hits the books in the first place.
You already pay a wealth tax. It's called property tax. Most people wealth (if any) is concentrated in the house or appartement they live in. And so the real wealth tax is already here.
So you are opposed to any taxes whatsoever?
People are opposed to ever increasing government spending and low effectivenes of spending
The state needs to earn the right to tax more by showing prudence and effectiveness in handling finances
Nobody would oppose taxes if that actually meant material improvement of public infra
