Let's say it's a good quality for a partner, or, anyone!
Why is there such a narrow world view apparent on HN as to suggest that this is only a good quality for a human to have? It's a good quality for almost anything to have!
There are more good qualities to look for than anyone can possess. Just make sure your partner has good qualities and encourage them. Then have "a village" where other good qualities that you have have between the two of you cover as much of the rest as possible.
True! But in an ideal partnership each partner brings something that the other needs.
