Transmitters on the bins seems cumbersome and expensive. I would use metal tape on the bin to complete a circuit on the fence.
Then I can overengineer the fensor circuit! Ultralow power, bin recognition, alarms, fox nerfs, auto-lids and so on.
I'd like one surging with ultra high power for when people try and fill my recycling bin with random trash
