You'll typically need to wait at home for the contractor to arrive, and while he's working. Unless you can work while you're doing that, that's $100/hr lost for that time, in addition to what you're paying the contractor.

Unless you have a spouse or partner at home who can be there, but then you're losing whatever they could have been earning if they were working instead.
