But, add a keyboard and a display and you're spending the same amount for a worse form-factor. Form-factor is a big part of a musical instrument. People love these little music boxes; see Teenage Engineering gear, which is tiny, quite limited, and crazy expensive. But, people love tinkering with it.

Then again, the keyboard on this thing is ass. They have a bigger version with a proper keyboard (though it probably also sucks), I don't know if folks have hacked that one of if it is hackable in the same way. I would kind of assume it is, though.
