It's absolutely appropriate; the people downvoting those comments would absolutely say negative things, potentially even jubilant and gleeful things, on the occasion of the death of someone they thought was bad. Pointing out that Margaret Hamilton's impact on the Apollo program is overstated somewhat because a lot of people want to promote the stories of early female programmers is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
I think you're ignoring the part of the comments alleging she slept her way to the top. The same accusation made against any woman of influence. The comments are lazy sexism and provide no sources for their claims.
Her real-time error-detection code saved the Apollo 11 moon landing from crashing when the computer became overloaded during descent. She basically invented asynchronous task-scheduling and end-to-end testing
