They cannot launder decisions. If Anthropic claims Claude is growing into an autonomous being deserving of personhood and the responsibilities that come with it, then we can treat Claude as an Anthropic employee.

The company is liable either way. And in that case, there would be plenty of other problems besides the hacking. We'd have look into why they're making Claude work ungodly hours 24/7 without compensation :)
