I don't disagree that there's a negative effect here, I wonder how it will shake out in the end. There are still communities which reject AI use and continue their work and I feel like we hear about them disproportionately. There are also new groups interested in using LLMs and collaborating on their work. And sure, there are individual efforts too and it's easy to see them recently.

What I'm saying is I'm not sure we lost communities overall or are they just getting shuffled a bit. We likely won't know for a while. Since the reporting and perception recently is very skewed.
