If you're making the restaurant comparison, look at how many restaurants now just order everything premade from Sysco and "cook" it with a TurboChef™ convection-oven-microwave.

Some don't even bother to use more than a conventional microwave, which I've sometimes just sent back and asked for a refund.
Fairly sure convection ovens aren't microwaves. They use a standard resistive heater and a fan, totally different physics for heating.

Irrelevant. They are not the original microwaves sold as the solution to cooking and the way they work is totally different. And even with convection, they still haven't "solved" cooking.
