I’m guessing you haven’t read it in Hebrew because the Hebrew is pretty succinct.
As for meandering, the narrative follows people who travel around to different places so I don’t know what you mean. The canon of the Bible doesn’t arrange all the books chronologically. You can read them in chronological order if you want.
The canon doesn't even arrange all the books. It's a somewhat arbitrary selection.
If we start with Genesis, we get the creation story twice. We get two instances of dude pretending his wife is his sister.
You just used the word “we” 3 times which is even more than 2. Why be so redundant?
