Curious where they were being treated previously. The general heuristic is to go to the places with the cases. And it's a big enough institution that mistakes will be made in hiring just like any big tech company.

A friend's insurance didn't have MD Anderson in network and he ended up at Memorial Hermann, the staff of which flips back and forth between there and MD Anderson like Bing and Google used to because they overlap physically in the Texas medical district. The difference in his words was that MD Anderson was on top of everything and managed the entire experience while he had to rely on his background as a small business owner to manage his treatment himself at Memorial Hermann.

They were treated at Duke prior to this.

At MD Anderson they were not on top of things and I just wonder if we got unlucky that it was leukemia and that MD Anderson is better at other specialties, but who knows? At least at Duke they did a stem-cell and CAR-T treatment successfully, MD Anderson kind of dropped the ball by not targeting both CD markers effectively for the cancer :/
