Can this be scaled down to a Roomba? Then it would both be more useful at picking stuff up off the floor, and able to recover from falling down the stairs.

Vroomba!
Square-cube scaling being what it is, I think it'd be much more reasonable to use propellers (like quadcopters) than try to scale down COPV's to a Vroomba! size. That's actually an interesting product idea. A small flying vacuum cleaner could clean a variety of surfaces; not only floors.
(And you could even mount the charging station on the ceiling, so it doesn't take up floor space).
All the dust around it on the floor would end up airborne again.
That's OK if it's just to save itself from dying in the event of a fall down the stairs. Should be infrequent!
Much cheaper to make it better at avoiding falling down the stairs (I've had two for years and they have never fallen down stairs). This is about as practical as the idea elsewhere in this topic that the roadster could avoid high speed collisions by boosting out of the way.
Roombas are already programmed not to yeet themselves off of stairs
I guess nobody informed my roomba of this.
Mine is anyways lol
I was a house guest when one definitely decided it was time to throw itself to its doom. Incredible sound.
Imagine walking up stair and suddenly a roomba launch itself at your face.
The bright side is that it would immediately vacuum all the debris it would cause in the process
Queen face hoover
Yes, it isn't even special at all.

Fan cars are pretty old. From that perspective, the driving upside down part is "less impressive" but screw it, still cool.
I want to see it on a track going all out, but something about what they decided to focus on tells me nobody gives a damn about this actually doing anything performance car related.
