So now all software engineers should fight with all their power to keep DST where ever possible, so we do not loose the cultural ability to write software that can do the one hour adjustments required by this...

So now all software engineers should fight with all their power to keep DST where ever possible, so we do not loose the cultural ability to write software that can do the one hour adjustments required by this...
It's scary the amount of software that is written that assumes wall clock time is monotonic. Even without leap seconds or DST individual clocks will drift and need to be synced up again using NTP. So we still need to be able to deal with clock changes.
