So, if I follow this correctly, Mononoke is a Facebook project. Facebook, now Meta, is widely known to be a company that steals stuff and doesn't give attribution.

The issue, fundamentally with Anthropics announcement is apparently "attribution, not copying."

The Mononoke project sits in a facebook org repo, so i assume it's a Meta project.

So I guess my question is, if it's good for one company, why isn't it good for the other company?

I realize real people work at these companies, but I can't feel sympathy.

Sure. But neither should we be impressed with Anthropic for making a big deal out of (let's be perfectly honest) generating an SCM architecture on the backs of other people's ideas.
