I've been meaning to get one of these, as I was looking to make a liquid cooling dock, so I can't have an interface that adheres to any of the sides.
Does it really simply not stick and is held in place by pressure alone?

It definitely slides around. The package I got included silicone oil to anchor it with a drop in the center.
