What else should we do? It's not like we had any choice.

What? You have the choice of just not. Or if you absolutely must to put food on the table, you don't need to fucking cheer as you do it!

  • This is a risky proposition if the technology is in some way revolutionary. The people who decided to "just not" with, for example, the internet often aren't doing business anymore.

A lot of pre-Internet businesses are still here with us, and online. The one thing the survivors did not do was hitch their wagons on a predator designed in a lab to devour them - to use mixed metaphors. Barnes & Noble didn't board up their brick-and-mortar stores to replace them with an Amazon storefront - they figured out how to use the Internet without handing over the family jewels.

    • The internet was inherently decentralized. This is inherently centralizing. The direction of travel is opposite.

  • And get sniped by someone who didn't just not?

    • Yeah. I totally understand that that's not acceptable, having to put food on the table myself. But then "at least don't cheer" applies.
